Sleeping bag (to at least 0 degrees) Sleeping mat Good boots Warm, wick away socks (polypro, wool, etc.) If wool then liners. Layers for your legs (tights, shorts, thermal underwear, long pants that are not made of cotton) Layers for your torso (thermal undershirt, t-shirt, sweater not made of cotton, insulating over-layer) Warm hat that covers ears Gloves and liners, if appropriate Raingear for your body Pack raincover Flash light Extra batteries for the flashlight Toothbrush and toothpaste Something to drink out of Something to eat out of Two liters of water Appropriate backpack to put it all in |
Bandanas or small cloths, recommend 2 Any medical items you may feel you need not included in the general first aid kit Camera and film Change of socks in case we have any wet crossings Small amount of soap for hand and face washing Binoculars Hand warmers, toasty-toes, etc Reading materials or journal, deck of cards, etc. (recommend choose 1) |
